Muoi Tieu Moving Into Former Mark’s Kitchen Space in Takoma Park
Opening Fall 2023

Popular Takoma Park Vietnamese food truck, Muối Tiêu (pronounced “mooey tew”), will be moving into the former Mark’s Kitchen space (7006 Carroll Ave, Takoma Park) this fall as a Vietnamese bistro and market concept.

With the new brick and mortar location, Muối Tiêu (which means “salt and pepper” in Vietnamese) will be able to expand its menu offerings as well as service hours for lunch and dinner. The new concept will also include a small market section with Asian pantry items, condiments, snacks, dried goods, and other prepared items such as meal kits, pickled vegetables, and sauces. In addition to the current menu, which includes bánh mì, summer rolls, and salads, Muối Tiêu will be offering up more comfort dishes inspired by Owner/Chef Thuy-Tu Tran’s family, such as bún (rice noodle bowls), bánh xèo (sizzling crepes), bột chiên (fried rice cakes) and more along with beer and wine. The space will be undergoing renovation over the coming months and is expected to Fall 2023. In the meantime, the food truck will stay in operation for lunch service every Wednesday – Friday, 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, at the TPSS Co-op parking lot (201 Ethan Allen Ave) and will also be available for catering and special events in Takoma Park. About Muoi Tieu

Muối Tiêu is a Vietnamese, woman-owned, family run Vietnamese food truck in Takoma Park. Like our name, our philosophy is simple:we want to bring classic, savory Vietnamese dishes to
our community. Born and raised in Minnesota, Owner/Chef Thuy-Tu Tran grew up cooking with her family. Over the years, she has continued to grow as a cook, hosting more and more elaborate dinner
parties for family and friends, including catering small events. Prior to starting Muối Tiêu, Thuy-Tu enjoyed a rewarding career spanning over a decade in nonprofit fundraising, which also
included a pivotal and transformative year-long detour as a sous chef at Doi Moi restaurant in DC. During the pandemic, Thuy-Tu felt a strong desire to bring the comforting Vietnamese dishes
she craved closer to her home in Takoma Park. Drawing on her cooking experience and inspiration from her family, she founded Muối Tiêu and launched the food truck in December 2022. The food truck has thrived thanks to the tremendous enthusiasm and support from the Takoma Park community.
