The Old Takoma Business Association received a Safety Grant from the State of Maryland. We will be using this grant to make smaller grants to businesses for safety-related improvements. 

The 2024 Takoma Safety Grant is available to businesses located in the Old Takoma commercial district in Takoma Park, MD near the Takoma Metro on Carroll Avenue, Maple Avenue, Willow Avenue, Westmoreland Avenue, Laurel Avenue, Columbia Avenue, Grant Avenue, and Ethan Allen Avenue. See map. Businesses must also be in good standing with the State of Maryland.

2024 Safety Takoma Micro-Grant

    This grant is limited to businesses located in the commercial district near the Metro in Takoma Park, MD only on Carroll Ave, Westmoreland Avenue, Willow Avenue, Maple Avenue, Laurel Avenue, Grant Avenue or Ethan Allen Avenue.
  • Restaurant, Retail, Personal Services, Fitness, other
  • Examples include interior and exterior security cameras and security systems, interior and exterior lighting, exterior doors, storefront window replacement, and other exterior facade improvements. Projects not limited to those listed here.
  • The maximum grant is up to $5,000. If you are a business or commercial property owner with multiple business/buildings to address, additional funding may be available. Maximum grant for storefront window replacement is $10,000 with a 50% match required.
