SELF/REFLECTION at the Willow Street Gallery

SELF/REFLECTION will run from September 2 to October 2, 2022, culminating with the Takoma Park Street Festival and DCAS Open Studios. An opening reception will take place on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 7-9:30pm.

Willow Street Gallery is a part of DC Arts Studios. Twenty-one member artists are involved in the exhibition: Aaron Henderson, Aiden Paddlety, Brad Ireland, Caitlin Oldham, Chris Luckman, Darren Milligan, Dave Hysom, Deb Sivigny, Jacqueline Bryant Campbell, Jonathan Ege, Katharine Heyl, Laura Whitfield, Lea Craigie Marshall, Martha Crawley, Mei Mei Chang, Myron L. Fields, Nqobile Mthethwa, Rohan Thomas, Sharon Farmer, Vanessa Clement, and Wil Bernard.

The featured works are inspired by the idea of a self portrait, expanding beyond the traditional boundaries of figurative works and deconstructing the meaning of “self”. The works from the artists encompass many different mediums including painting, drawing, multi-media, photography and textiles.

SELF/REFLECTION will run thru October 2, 2022. The artists will be present for the opening reception Friday, September 2nd from 7-9:30pm. Gallery hours are Sundays 11am-3pm and by appointment.
