The Takoma Park Cooperative School invites you to an admissions open house December 3rd from 1 to 3 p.m.
You will have the opportunity to explore our outdoor school environment and see the materials we use, crafted to create a unique experience for children and parents. Meet the parents and teachers who have dedicated themselves to creating a learning environment built on a foundation of nature, art and play.
Parents and caregivers are invited and babies in arms are welcome. We ask that you find alternative care for your children while you attend so you have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the learning and school environment. The afternoon will include an opportunity to meet the teachers, ask questions about the program, and explore the outdoor classroom.

Getting to the School: We are on the #12 Ride on Route, Flower/Houston stop. Parking lot is bike-friendly. If you are driving to the school parking is available on Houston, Roanoke, and Kennebec Streets. The parking lot in front is closed to car use.
The Cooperative School, a not-for-profit corporation, welcomes families of all races, colors, religions and national and ethnic origins without regard to sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status.

The Takoma Park Cooperative School is:
Arts-based: Children explore process and technique through exploration in visual art, music, and movement.
Play-based: The language of play and all it entails provides children the focus, problem-solving skills, confidence, creativity, and willingness to explore their world, forge relationships, and create a foundation for life-long learning.
Nature-infused: Our outdoor space features natural elements—logs, pebbles, sand, rocks, branches—and thoughtfully selected repurposed materials ready the space for imaginary play. School takes place outdoors every day—in all weather!
