Food Forest Work Party

Join the Takoma Park Community Food Forest Group at Takoma Park Elementary School to start revitalizing the garden, prepare for a Food Forest and help return the wonder of nature and ecology to the students and the back yard of TPES.
To begin this process, we’ll use the lasagna technique to prepare the soil so the children can start planting and growing food this spring. We’d love volunteers to help move mulch and compost from the parking lot to the playground beds. Bring gloves (and shovels if you have them) and enjoy the beginning of this great activity.
This will also be an opportunity for students to earn SSL hours!

TIME/DATE: This Saturday February 25th 9am-1pm
LOCATION: Takoma Park Elementary School (7511 Holly Ave) meeting on the playground at the back of the school – contact Miles if you need additional location details.
BRING: garden gloves, and a shovel. Also, if you have any cardboard, remove all labels and tape, and bring it with!
