Book Signing + Moderated Discussion Hosted by Justice Arts Coalition and Author, Reda Taleb
January 27 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join JAC this Friday (1/27) from 6-7 pm ET in our new office space in Takoma Park, MD for a book reading and moderated discussion with author, Reda A. Taleb.
The reading will celebrate the launch of Reda Taleb’s new book “Noura’s Extraordinary Superpower: A Book for Youth with Incarcerated Loved Ones and How to Activate the Innate Superpower of Empathy for Healing.”
This book is the first in a series entitled “Ordinary People with Extraordinary Superpowers.” All children need books where they can see themselves represented in the characters who share their lived experiences. Like many others from the MENASA Community (Middle East North Africa South Asia), Reda yearned to see herself and her community’s lived experiences authentically and accurately represented in the books/curriculum used throughout her schooling. Stay tuned for upcoming books on how Noura and her family navigate the challenges of having an incarcerated loved one through a nuanced perspective of their community’s struggle to be seen, valued, and heard within the collective struggle for equity and inclusion.
Books will be available for sale following the event, including book signing and pictures. Light refreshments will be served. Please register in advance for this pay-what-you-can event, and consider a contribution that feels meaningful to you to help us cover the costs. We are delighted that you will be joining us in our new space!
