LIVE PERFORMANCES
  • Granny and the Boys - Alice Donahue is 84 years old. Her band is called Granny and the Boys: four middle-aged men on bass, guitar, drums and vocals ... one granny on keys. They play a live funk fusion show every Sunday at a bar called Showtime — and though folks of all ages come, the majority are people in their 20s and 30s. For them, Granny is something of a novelty.
  • Rockville Swing Band - The Rockville Swing Band, under the musical direction of Josh Frayer, is an affiliation of the Rockville Concert Band and has been around for over 60 years, founded in 1958. The Rockville Swing Band brings together a unique group of talented musicians of all ages from the greater Washington D.C. area who love to play swing music. This exciting mix of musical talent plays traditional swing charts from the Golden Era, as well as contemporary big band arrangements.
  • Marsha and the Positrons - Marsha and the Positrons play fun, positive songs about science & how the world works, with shows that are playful, educational, and entertaining for kids and grown-ups too.
  • Takoma Park Community Band - The Takoma Park Community Band is a diverse group of musicians from the entire metropolitan area. Repertoire includes jazz, Broadway tunes, Latin music, standard marches, and more.
