Free Puppet Show!

June 16 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The artists’ work is a reflection of the emotional development of human anatomy. A lifetime of experiences are stored in our bodies. This story brings together the practical philosophy of recycling, with the important life lesson of making the most of what we experience. Each puppet is built with movable anatomy that is intricate but durable and hand stitched with 22 gauge copper wire. As part of her process, the artist breaks up unwanted/donated items and takes away the best parts to create something beautiful and functional. In this way, the lesson we hope for children to learn from watching our performance is woven into every step: If we seek to make the most of what we’ve been given and take away the best parts of what we experience, then we can come to express ourselves in healthy ways that allow us to be understood and appreciated by others for who we truly are.
