Please consider making a donation to the Old Takoma Business Association, which runs the Main Street Takoma program.

Our mission is bringing together businesses, residents and community organizations dedicated to developing a vibrant market center, from the Takoma Junction, Maryland, to the Takoma Theatre, DC, to enhance our unique and historic town setting.

Your donation will go toward promoting local, independently-owned businesses, sponsoring concerts and other events, buying flowers for the Old Takoma area, recruiting and retaining businesses, and much more.

Art Hop Arts District in Old Takoma

On March 20-21st, the 1st Annual Art Hop will transform Old Takoma's main street into a neighborhood arts district. Free to the public, the two-day event will showcase a variety of art from wearable art, to photography, to mixed media sculptural works in more than 30 businesses throughout Old Town, The Junction and Takoma DC. You'll have the opportunity to meet the participating artists at the various locations throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday.

Musicians and street performers will be scheduled on both days as well. "We've had a lot of interest and excitement about Art Hop. We think people of all ages will be thrilled to see work from both local and regional artists while visiting the stores throughout Old Takoma," said Pennye Jones-Napier both co-owner of The Big Bad Woof and board chair of Main Street Takoma.
